What does a vocational evaluation consist of?

Briefly, our vocational evaluation consists of a fairly detailed background interview, achievement & aptitude testing, and vocational interest, work personality & occupational values inventories.

What does a situational assessment consist of?

Briefly, our community-based situational assessment is composed of two options. Both include all of the components of a comprehensive onsite vocational evaluation. Option #1 includes a standardized set of 5 work samples, consisting of unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled tasks that can be performed in a public library.

Option #2 consists of a customized set of work samples conducted in various community facilities.

How long does the assessment take?

The comprehensive (onsite) vocational evaluation and the remote vocational evaluation each take about four hours. The community-based situational assessment takes about 8-10 hours, over two days.

How long until I get the report back?

The report is sent to the referring Counselor, usually within one to three weeks, depending on the type of evaluation and the season. You will be provided with a copy, when you meet with the Counselor.

How do I need to prepare, and what should I bring to the vocational evaluation appointment?

Try to get a good night's sleep and be sure to eat something prior the the appointment. If you wear corrective lenses, be sure to have them with you. Take your medications as prescribed. Review math to your current level of proficiency.
